Crafty Round Up

30th April 2020

It's been a while since I last posted but there have been lots of creative activities going on this week. And it's not just me, some of our other crafty staff have been busy as well. Check out the picture below and as always please share your work with us via the usual channels.

Inspired by David Hockney, I dug out some pastel pencils I haven't used in over 20 years and drew myself a landscape. It is based on this picture of one of my favourite views, from the top of Sutton Bank near Thirsk.

Using the air dry clay from the previous project I made this "flower" display. The flowers are attached to gardening wire and glued inside of an old embroidery thread bobbin.

The other thing I have been doing this week is making keyrings using wooden beads. This started out as a individual art project but I have had to much fun with it, I'm still making them now. Here are some of the ones I have made so far.

Mrs Hammond has been creating some really beautiful illustrations to accompany the book she is writing.

Mrs Park has been busy drawing this beautiful bee. How did she get it to stay still while she drew it?

And it's not just drawing and crafting that's been going on, Miss Armstrong has upcycled a bench and a cable reel for a table.
