At Thorpe Primary School our vision for Science is for the children to confidently explore the world around them. We want children to harness their curiosity to investigate, deepen their level of understanding and question the world around them. We strive to create opportunities for children to practically engage with the Science curriculum and independently plan, carry out, record and reflect on their findings to become the best scientist they can. This is coupled with meaningful Science theory that will underpin all the investigations that take place.
Children will leave our school resilient and reflective, knowing that a good Scientist never stops striving for the best. This will prepare them for the ever-changing future that needs adults ready to go and make our world a better place. In particular, we are aiming to break down the gender bias gap that is facing adults in Science careers at the moment by making sure that all children are given equal opportunities that encourages them to love the subject and want to take it further.
